Frequently Asked Questions
SpecHavn is preparing to launch. Below is where we stand today — what we can help with now, and what goes live when ordering opens.
No questions in this category yet.
Before You Order
3 QIs SpecHavn open for orders?
Not yet. SpecHavn is pre-launch, so nothing on the site can be purchased right now. You can browse the catalog to see the categories and the kind of spaces we build for, and the storefront will open for ordering once our brand relationships and fulfillment are in place.
What are the products shown on the site?
They are samples that preview our catalog design. The names, images, and specifications are placeholders used to build and test the storefront, and they are not products you can buy. Final brands and models will be confirmed at launch.
How do I get in touch before you open?
Email support@spechavn.com or use our contact form, and we will reply within one business day. For a commercial project, the Commercial Pricing form is the best route, since it captures the room count, timeline, and budget up front.
Ordering & Payments
4 QWhat payment methods will you accept?
When ordering opens we plan to accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Accepted methods will be confirmed on the checkout page at launch.
Will my payment information be secure?
Yes. Checkout will run on Shopify's PCI-compliant payment infrastructure with SSL encryption, and full card numbers are never stored on our servers.
Can I get pricing for a commercial project now?
We welcome project inquiries during pre-launch. Submit a request through our Commercial Pricing page with your room count, timeline, and budget, and we will follow up to talk through the scope. Firm pricing and availability will be confirmed once we open for orders.
Will sales tax be charged?
Sales tax will be calculated at checkout based on your shipping address and applicable state law once ordering opens. We plan to support exemption certificates from qualifying tax-exempt organizations, and we will publish that process at launch.
Shipping & Delivery
3 QWhat are your shipping options and delivery times?
We are not shipping orders yet. Shipping methods, costs, and delivery estimates will be published on our Shipping Policy page when ordering officially opens.
Will you handle large or freight items?
Our catalog is built around equipment that often ships by freight, such as large-format displays, screens, and workspace furniture, so freight delivery is part of how we plan to operate. Specific carriers, lead times, and delivery-appointment options will be published at launch.
Where will you ship to?
We plan to serve the United States at launch. Coverage details, including any regional surcharges or address restrictions, will be published with our shipping terms when ordering opens.
Technical Support
6 QWill you be an authorized dealer for the brands you carry?
Yes — that's the standard we're building to. We're currently establishing direct relationships with the manufacturers we plan to carry, and we'll only list a brand once that relationship is in place. Buying from an authorized dealer is what keeps your manufacturer warranty valid and gives you proper access to firmware updates and service support, so it matters to us that we do this properly before we open.
What kind of support will you offer?
Right now we can help with pre-purchase questions about room requirements, sizing, and how different technologies compare. Email support@spechavn.com and we will reply within one business day. Post-purchase technical support will launch alongside ordering.
How will product warranties work?
Products will carry the manufacturer's warranty. Because a manufacturer warranty is only fully honored when the product is bought through an authorized dealer, we are putting those brand relationships in place before we list anything for sale.
Can you help me think through a whole room?
Happy to. Send us your room dimensions, ambient light conditions, seating layout, and budget, and we will walk through how the pieces fit together across display, screen, audio, and lighting. There is no cost and no obligation — and since we are not selling yet, there is nothing to sell you.
Do collaboration displays work with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet?
Generally, yes. Collaboration displays are typically certified for Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms, which means the room hardware and the platform are validated to work together. Conferencing peripherals such as cameras and speakerphones are usually platform-agnostic and work with effectively any service, including Google Meet and Webex. Certification varies by model, so it is worth confirming against the specific platform your organization standardizes on.
What do I need to run a projector in a room with windows?
Pair a high-brightness projector with an ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen. An ALR surface reflects the projector's light back toward viewers while absorbing light from windows and overhead fixtures, which protects contrast in rooms you cannot fully darken. Ultra short throw projectors need an ALR screen made specifically for UST geometry.
Returns & Refunds
2 QWhat is your return policy?
Because we are not accepting orders yet, there is nothing to return. Our full return and refund terms will be published on our Return & Refund Policy page and take effect when ordering opens.
What will happen if an order arrives damaged?
Handling transit damage properly matters on equipment this size, and it will be covered explicitly in the return terms we publish at launch, including how to document damage on delivery and the window for reporting it.
Products & Buying Guide
6 QHow many lumens do I need for my projector?
For a fully darkened home theater, 1,500 to 2,500 ANSI lumens is usually plenty. Living rooms with some ambient light do better at 2,500 to 3,500, and conference rooms or classrooms with overhead lighting should target 3,500 or more. Screen size matters too, because the same projector looks dimmer as the image grows.
What is the difference between ultra short throw and standard throw projectors?
An ultra short throw projector sits inches from the wall and casts a 100-inch image from a console below the screen, so nobody walks through the beam and no ceiling mount is required. A standard throw projector is placed several feet back, usually ceiling mounted, and typically costs less for the same brightness. UST suits living rooms; standard throw suits dedicated theaters and larger meeting rooms.
Do I need an ambient light rejecting screen?
If you can fully darken the room, a quality matte white screen is enough. If you have windows, glass walls, or lights that stay on, an ALR screen makes a dramatic difference in contrast and color saturation. Match the screen to the projector: UST models require a UST-specific ALR surface rather than a standard one.
What size screen should I choose for my space?
A useful rule of thumb is a screen diagonal roughly half the distance from the screen to your main seating, so 12 feet back points to a 100 to 120-inch screen. In meeting rooms, check legibility instead: the furthest viewer should sit no more than about six times the screen height away.
What should I look for in a smart standing desk?
Prioritize stable dual-motor lifting, a height range that actually fits your body, programmable presets, and real cable management, which is the difference between a clean desk and a nest of wires. Built-in charging, posture reminders, and app control earn their keep if you change positions several times a day.
What is spatial computing, and who are 3D displays for?
Spatial computing renders content with genuine depth and perspective, so a model appears to occupy physical space instead of sitting flat on a screen. Glasses-free 3D displays and holographic devices are used in product design, medical visualization, engineering review, retail, and trade show booths, while headsets suit immersive individual work.
Business & Commercial
4 QWill you work with schools, churches, and government buyers?
That is exactly who we are building for — K-12 and higher education, houses of worship, healthcare, and government. We are pre-launch and do not have institutional customers yet. We plan to accept purchase orders from approved institutions, honor tax exemption certificates, and provide W-9s, formal quotes, and spec sheets for procurement once we open.
Can I talk to you about a multi-room or multi-site rollout?
Yes, and early is better. Submit your room count, layouts, and target standard through our Commercial Pricing page and we will follow up to work through the design. Keeping hardware consistent across sites keeps training and support simple later on. Pricing and delivery scheduling will be confirmed at launch.
Will you offer net terms or accept purchase orders?
We intend to offer net terms to qualified businesses and institutions, subject to a credit review, and to accept purchase orders from approved buyers. These programs are not live yet; we will publish the application process when ordering opens.
Can we evaluate equipment before committing?
Demos and evaluation units are arranged through the manufacturer, so this will depend on the brand relationships we are establishing now. Tell us what you are evaluating through the Commercial Pricing form and we will let you know what is possible as those relationships come online.
